Taiwan Arts Institute Endorses International Opal Jewellery Design Awards.

21st June 2013

A glowing letter of endorsement for the International Opal Jewellery Design Awards from Chun-Hsiung Lu, CEO, Taiwan Arts Institute, is testimony to the ongoing International recognition the International Opal Jewellery Design Awards Association is achieving, and the valued partnerships that are being nurtured.

In praising the IOJDA, Chun-Hsiung Lu was elated that 2011 winning participants from Taiwan Jewellery Arts Institute were given sponsorships from the Taiwan Minister of Culture in recognition of their achievements.

He suggested that as opal is Australia’s National Gemstone we too should seek support from our comparable Government Ministry.

‘We shall work together to make this competition one of the best jewellery competitions, he said. One of these benefits will be to increase interactivity between our countries. Another benefit will be to help you expand the possibilities of the Chinese market and the other will be to grow the utilisation rate of opal in the jewellery industry’, he quoted. Albert Einstein once said, ‘Creativity is contagious, pass it on’”. He also said, Imagination is more important than Knowledge’. ‘We shall use our imagination and creativity wisely to influence the world’, quoted Chun-Hsiung Lu.He further quoted, ‘The opal is not only the best gemstone to work with creativity, but also imagination’.

Chun-Hsiung Lu’s inspiring words and endorsements are heartening to the IOJDAA who feel that they are fulfilling their charter to promote opal generally and the use of freeform and / or undulating opal in unique jewellery designs.

Given that this is an entirely voluntary effort by a team ‘who live the dream’ and ‘share their passion for Opal and Lightning Ridge’, we are justifiably proud of our achievements and sincerely grateful for the support we receive.

The final seal of approval for the efforts made on behalf of opal mining and its associated industries would be to have capacity numbers attending the International Opal Jewellery Design Awards Presentation Dinner, Friday July26th and viewing the IOJDAA competition entries and Trade Show, Legends Room, LRDBC, Thursday July 25th to Sunday July 28th.
