IOJDAA winners enter Hong Kong Awards

Three International Opal Jewellery Design Awards (IOJDAA) 2008 category winners have been invited to enter the prestigious International Jewellery Design Excellence (IJDE) Award, 2009 held in Hong Kong.
Invitations to enter the IJDE were only open to  first-prize winners of fine jewellery design competitions. From the IOJDAA 2008 Awards Vicki Rodd has entered two pieces; the 1st Place Prestige Professional, Eternal Flame necklace and 1st Place Prestige Professional Ring Awards, Frog of Fortune ring.  Ok Jin Jangs has also entered the 1st Place Prestige Apprentice 'Sunset at Ayers Rock’ piece.

The IJDE Award 2009 provides an opportunity for international jewellery design elites to exchange experiences and to compete for the highest honour — Champion of the Champions.

“The invitation to IOJDAA winning entrants for the IJDE Awards is a testament to the international success and recognition that we have been able to attract to both the Awards and the opal industry. It presents another opportunity to showcase the exquisite and innovative use of opal at a world class event that will attract significant media exposure,” Lyn Carney, President of International Opal Jewellery Design Awards said.

The JDE Award was launched by the Hong Kong Jewellery Manufacturers’ Association in 2006. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is the organiser of the IJDE Award 2009 and it is co-organised by the Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, Hong Kong Jewellery Manufacturers’ Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China.

Final judging will occur for the show in March 09 and  the awards will be presented at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show (HKIJS) Gala Dinner.
